Sacred Heart Hospital, located at 900 Seton Drive, is the central hospital serving the Greater Cumberland, Maryland region.

[edit] History

Recently in 2006, due to Daughters of Charity no longer being involved with the hospital, the daughters requested that the name Sacred Heart be dropped. The Western Maryland Health System now refers to the hospital as WMHS Braddock Campus.

On November 21, 2009, the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center opened on Willowbrook Road in Cumberland, effectively consolidating the Western Maryland Health System within the city into one centralized facility. As of 3:30 PM that same day, all patients from both Memorial Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospital (WMHS Braddock Campus) had been moved to the new hospital and the two facilities were closed
