Safari Books Online LLC is a digital library founded in July 2001 and headquartered in Sebastopol, CA with offices in Boston, MA and San Francisco, CA. It is a joint venture between O'Reilly Media and the Pearson Technology Group.
Safari's main product is a subscription-based, digital library[1] that includes books, videos, short form content ("Short Cuts"), and evolving manuscripts ("Rough Cuts") from O'Reilly Media and other publishers including Addison-Wesley, Prentice Hall, Peachpit, John Wiley & Sons,[2] Microsoft Press, Adobe Press, Cisco Press, Manning Publications[3], Packt,[4] SAS Publishing, IBM Press, FT Press and Focal Press.
Safari has two subscription plans. The first, Safari Bookshelf, allows a limited number of books and pages a month. The number of books and pages vary depending on plan preferences. The second plan, Safari Library, gives user unlimited access to all books and other materials in the library.
