Safiyyah bint ‘Abd al-Muttalib

Saffiyah binte ‘Abd al-Muṭṭalib (Arabic: صفية بنت عبدالمطلب‎; c. late 560s – c. 640)[1] was a Sahaba and a prominent person in Islamic history.

Biography [edit]

She was the daughter of Shaiba ibn Hashim (Abd al-Muttalib) and the sister of Hamza and thus Muhammad's aunt and Ali's aunt.[2]

She was first married to Harith ibn Harb.[3]

She was then married to Awwam ibn Khuwaylid and was the mother of Zubayr ibn al-Awwam.[2]
