The Saint Helena Dove (Dysmoropelia dekarchiskos) was a species of flightless bird in the Columbidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Dysmoropelia.[citation needed] It was endemic to the island of Saint Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean and became extinct due to habitat loss.
