Tiba (gazelle) is an Iranian car made by Saipa. The car was originally named "Miniator", based on the "S81" platform.[1]

In November 2008 Saipa launched the Iran-made "Saipa National Engine 231".[2] In December 2008, Saipa unveiled its new model: "Miniator". Tiba/Miniator has a 4-cylinder gas engine and ABS, averages 7 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers and puts out 80 horsepower, with a displacement of 1500cc.[3] Price will be less than 10,000 dollars. This Car Uses The Improved Platform of SAIPA X100 Series . There Is Still Critics About Safety , Even There Is No Crash Test Or Safety Rating From The Producer Company . The car has been designed and produced by domestic experts. In its production the services of some 122 local manufacturers have been utilized and about 810 parts have been produced.[4] 15,000 Tiba/Miniator cars will be produced in 2009.

Production over the next three years will reach 200,000 per year. A new subsidiary, Kashan Saipa will take up production of the car. Kashan Saipa is the largest car manufacturing plant in the Middle East.[5][6] The share of Tiba in Saipa’s exports is expected to be around 20 percent by 2011.[7][8]
