Salwan is a village of high historical interest in Karnal District, Haryana, India. It contains a tirtha identified as having national importance.[1]
The village was the subject of much media attention in 2007, when the beating death of a Rajput man was followed by a wave of violence directed toward local dalits. About 150 lower-caste families fled the village.[2]
the main person in this village is Mr. surjit singh rana who is now ex. chairman of block smiti assandh he is the best person of this village and all vilagers respect him a lot he is most active in polictis as well in social works for poor people
