San Francisco (Spanish pronunciation: [san fɾanˈsisko]) is a municipality in the El Petén department of Guatemala. The municipality has a population of 8,066 people.[1]

The San Francisco municipal government is led by alcalde Simon Vinicio Penados Gomez, of the National Unity of Hope (UNE). The political party UNE holds all but two offices in the government; those two are held by Grand National Alliance (GANA) members.[2]
