[edit] Background and Profession

Fraz Wahlah was born in Gojra, Pakistan, in 1981. His family has long been involved in local as well as national politics.

His father, Mr. M.S. Wahlah Advocate, a renowned jurist, was the President of Pakistan Peoples Party during the martial law of General Zia ul Haq. He was a strong opponent of the military rule and therefore was imprisoned several times. Fraz Wahlah himself was the youngest prisoner of democracy as he was arrested at the age of 6 years for waving Pakistan Peoples Party flag during a curfew imposed by the military dictator after his father's arrest. Fraz completed his degree in business from Catholic University of Philippines before going on to pursue a degree in law at the Punjab University, Lahore where he was known as the diamond of the law school. He is currently the General Counsel for CureMD Corporation in the United States, Associate of former law minister & renowned lawyer Dr. Khalid Ranjha and the CEO of the law firm FADVOCAT, INC.

With years of international experience in software, health care informatics and technology industries, Fraz Wahlah is a recognized expert & regarded as an authority in the fields of information technology, corporate, intellectual property, and cyberlaw. Fraz Wahlah was recently interviewed & recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the technology and corporate world by the prestigious CIO Magazine.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] Fraz Wahlah also represented Pakistan in the 10th International Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is considered as the Oscar of the International ICT Industry, where he won the International Asia Pacific ICT Merit Award for Pakistan.[9][10][11][12]

[edit] Political career

Fraz Wahlah became a worker of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in his early youth, as he approved the dogma of the late President and Premier of Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. He has been involved with active local politics during his college and university days and gained fame for his speeches against the military rule of Pervaiz Musharraf. He served as the president of Peoples Student Federation (PSF), Pakistan Peoples Party Human Rights at various levels before getting appointed as the provincial president of Pakistan Peoples Party youth Punjab by the then Chairperson Benazir Bhutto in 2006

In August 2007, Fraz Wahlah was asked to run for Punjab Assembly on party's ticket in 2008 national elections, making him the youngest candidate nominated for the party ticket. However, he did not choose to contest because of his active participation in the movement for the restoration of judiciary being a lawyer himself.[13][14][15]

[edit] After Benazir Bhutto's Assassination

Fraz Wahlah sidelined himself from mainstream politics after Benazir Bhutto's assassination in protest against the current leadership of the party accusing them to have failed to launch a probe into the killing of the former Prime Minister.
