A Saturn Missile Battery is a popular consumer fireworks device that launches small, self-propelled whistling projectiles into the air, which explode at their maximum altitude. Saturn Missile Batteries come in 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, and 750[citation needed]-shot sizes.
Another version dubbed "Giant Saturn Missiles” is also available in a 20-shot pack, which contains larger sized shells which leave a visible sparkling trail, which also crackles as well as reports.
Each shot in the battery is a small plastic tube with one end closed. Whistle mix pyrotechnic composition is lightly tapped into the tube to produce thrust and the audible effect.
