Satyajit Padhye
CA Satyajit Padhye, son of Indian ventriloquist and puppeteer Ramdas Padhye,[1] is an up-and-coming ventriloquist, puppeteer and puppet maker. Having assisted his father, Ramdas Padhye, in various stage shows and plays, he is the third generation of ventriloquists in his family.
A Chartered Accountant, his first major public performance was as a finalist on India's Got Talent, a reality talent show on the television channel Colors.[2]
He was also invited on Kaun Banega Crorepati-Season 5 with Amitabh Bachchan to showcase his talent of Ventriloquism.[3] He opened the episode with Amitabh Bachchan.
Padhye is known for his youth-targeted humour. Satyajit honed his skills of puppetry and ventriloquism for five years before giving his first solo performance.

Satyajit got interested in this art from childhood. At the age of 8, he started learning the art of ventriloquism from his father Ramdas Padhye.[4] He performed for first time at the age of 12 at his school gathering when he was in 7th grade[1]
At the age of 13, Satyajit started as an assistant puppeteer and assisted his father for the play Good Night Baby Dino(1993) which was directed by AD-man Bharat Dabholkar.[5] He also was a lead puppeteer in another play called "Hats Off"(1997) which gave him lot of scope to showcase his talent as a puppeteer where he handled different puppetry techniques.Since then, he and his father have worked together on number of projects, including various television series, films (Dil Hai Tumhaara), plays, music videos (Maine Payal Hain Chhankai), and television advertisements. He did a TV series for Disney Channel as well as for Singapore T.V-12 for which he was one of the lead puppeteers.[6] Satyajit is also one of the Lead Puppeteer for the Celebrity Puppet Show “Juicy Pammi” on ZOOM Channel where he handled the puppet of main anchor "Juicy Pammi" besides operating different celebrity puppets.He has also assisted his dad for an International Advertisement on a Holland T.V. Network.
Padhye has represented India at the Japan Ventriloquist Festival, held in Tokyo.[7]
Satyajit is from R.A.Podar College of Commerce and Economics, Matunga where he participated in many inter-collegiate events like Youth Festival and Malhar.He has won several prizes in inter-collegiate events using his ventriloquism and puppetry skills.He also made a Professional Quality Puppet called “Rapster” as Mascot for RAPPORT 2003,the annual festival of R.A.Podar College which was the anchor for various events in the festival.
Satyajit is also a puppet maker who designs his own puppets as per the requirement of the script.He helps his dad Ramdas Padhye in designing the puppets in their Puppet Studio.
[edit] "Finalist of India's Got Talent"
Satyajit Padhye was the Finalist of India's Got Talent, a popular reality show on Colors in India[8] In his main auditions he performed an act with a double headed politician puppet.The judges Shekhar Kapur,Kirron Kher & Sonali Bendre praised him for his performance.Sonali also liked the performance.[9] His puppet show in India's Got Talent won him accolodes from the judges.
In the Semi-Finals, C.A. Satyajit Padhye performed an act with his puppet Chotu Singh, a sardar puppet.He was very spontaneous with his puppet.He performed a unique act, whereby a puppet operates another puppet.He also brought two big puppets in the background which danced to the tunes of a song.The entire presentation looked different and innovative.Shekhar Kapur appreciated him for developing his own script & Sonali Bendre said that his act was very unique.[10]
In the Finals of India's Got Talent, C.A. Satyajit Padhye performed an act based on the theme of Global Warming.He performed with two puppets, Chotu Singh and a bird puppet.He brought a Baby Puppet with him also.The Baby Puppet interacted with Judge Sonali Bendre.Kirron Kher told him that every performance of him is different & original from all his previous performances.[11] After Satyajit's performance was over he spontaneously commented on the anchors.
Satyajit also declared about his future plans on the show.He plans to open an institute of Ventriloquism, Puppetry & Allied Arts which will give a boost to the art of Ventriloquism & Puppetry.

Ventriloquist Satyajit Padhye was also invited alongwith his puppet Chotu Singh on Kaun Banega Crorepati-Season 5.The episode no.37 started with Amitabh Bachchan's introduction of various art forms and how they are getting neglected in the bright lights of technology. He then welcomed ventriloquist Satyajit Ramdas Padhye and his puppet friend Chhotu Singh.They entertained the audience with their witty humour and made everyone laugh out in appreciation.Chotu Singh made a very interesting comment about the Common Man in India which was appreciated by the audience and by Amitabh Bachchan himself.
Amitabh Bachchan's interacted with Chotu Singh and asked him questions to which he replied in his witty style.Amitabh Bachchan asked as to what Chotu Singh will do if he wins the Rs.5 crore on the show, to which he replied that if he wins 5 crores on the show there is nothing to do as he will simply relax for his entire lifetime.Chotu Singh also interacted with the rollover contestant Dropadi Chandnani from Bhopal.
Ventriloquist & Puppeteer Satyajit Padhye also presented the 150 Years Old Puppets originally created by Pioneer Indian Dramatist Vishnudas Bhave, resurrected after a research of 20 years by Ramdas Padhye.The episode no.38 of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Season 5 opened with this puppet show.This puppet show was scripted by Aparna Padhye, who is a Singer and a Puppeteer and who had originally scripted this puppet show when it was presented at the Nehru Centre in 2000.This puppet show was presented by Satyajit and his team of trained puppeteers on Kaun Banega Crorepati.Amitabh Bachchan also did a voice-over for one of the leading puppet characters in the puppet show.
Kaun Banega Crorepati, popularly known as KBC is an Indian reality/game show based on the UK game show ""Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"" The show first aired in 2000 and was hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. This was the first appearance of Bachchan on Indian television. The show is hugely popular in India. The 5th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati is once again being hosted by Mr Amitabh Bachchan.

[edit] "Big Bada Boom on Disney Channel featuring Puppet called Bumpy"
Satyajit Padhye was also a part of the show called "Big Bada Boom" on Disney Channel where he operated a Puppet called "Bumpy"[12] Bumpy is one of the co-anchors along with Tara, Murtuza and Zain.He plays lot of pranks on the show.This puppet has been designed and operated by Satyajit himself.Even the voice of the puppet has been given by Satyajit Padhye.Bumpy is a very cool character with lot of attitude.He also plays lot of pranks on the show by calling different celebrities on the phone.The show also had guest appearnaces by several celebrities like Omi Vaidya, Neetu Singh, Manjari Fadnis and Darsheel Saffary. Omi Vaidya better known as "Chatur" of 3 Idiots fame had come on this show who interacted with the puppet Bumpy as well as the other anchors Tara and Murtuza[13] The show had truly funny moments when a stranger named ‘Omi’ walks onto the Big Bada Boom set. Tara, Murtuza and Bumpy go crazy trying to figure out where they have seen him. Also the yesteryear Actress Neetu Singh had come onto the show to promote their film Do Dooni Chaar who interacted with Tara, Murtuza and Bumpy. Walt Disney Studio's new super hero flick "Zokkomon" directed by Satyajit Bhatkal was released in April 2011.[14]The stars of the film Manjari Fadnis and Darsheel Safary had come onto Big Bada Boom to promote their film.They had lot of fun interacting with Bumpy and Zain on the sets of Big Bada Boom.[15]

[edit] "Puppet and the Politician's Nautanki"
It is always said that a politician has two minds. What he speaks, he may not necessarily mean, because something different may be going on in his mind. What happens when you listen to his second mind? Satyajit Padhye has used this concept to create a humor-based show titled 'A Beautiful Mind', where Satyajit himself plays a typical Indian politician and the puppet is his alter ego or second mind.[16] This weekly show is a cult favorite, sarcastic, extremely witty and pokes fun of politicians. Another unique part of this show is that it will be seen on India's first online TV channel, Nautanki.TV.Nautanki.TV is an internet channel which webcasts programs/episodes/segments on an ongoing basis in the short format.
