Saucon Valley (Pennsylvania)

Saucon Valley is part of the Lehigh Valley located in eastern Pennsylvania. Saucon Valley includes the borough of Hellertown and the townships of Lower Saucon Township, Pennsylvania and Upper Saucon Township, Pennsylvania. It is located eight miles southeast of Allentown, Pennsylvania and two miles south of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It is one of the wealthiest parts of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

The name 'Saucon' is of Indian origin. 'Sakunk' meaning at the mouth of the creek. Saucon Valley is drained by Saucon Creek, a tributary of the Lehigh River. Saucon Valley is also home of the Saucon Valley Country Club, which has hosted several United States Golf Association national events. Saucon Valley Info is a community website with links to the area's organization websites and current events. The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley are also in Saucon Valley. Students in Upper Saucon Township attend Southern Lehigh School District with students in grade nine through twelve attending Southern Lehigh High School. Students in Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township attend Saucon Valley School District with students in grades nine through twelve attending Saucon Valley High School.
