1982 saw the 8th season of the Saudi Premier League. The league was reduced from the previous seasons 20 teams, which were also played in two Groups into a regular one league campaign.

Al Ettifaq went on to win their first championship and also the first championship for a team coming from the city of Dammam, also wrestling the title from the previous strongholds of Jeddah and Riyadh.
