Saurashtra Janata Express

The Saurashtra Janta express is an Indian Railways daily train running between Jamnagar and Bandra Terminus stations. It covers 812 km in almost 16 hours. It is considered as a good train for its timings. It departs from Jamnagar 1:35 PM and reaches Bandra Terminus at 5:30 am next day.
The train nos are
- Bandra Terminus - Jamnagar = 9017 up
- Jamnagar - Bandra Terminus = 9018 down.
The departure time from Bandra is 5:35 pm in evening and it reaches Jamnagar next day on 9:50 am. Initially the train used to run till Hapa station (8 km from Jamnagar), but has been extended till Jannagar station since last 10 yrs.
The train is hauled by a Vatva WDM 3D from Jamnagar to Ahmedabad.From Ahmedabad it gets a WCAM 1/2P.After the Rajkot Viramgam section is electrified,the train would get a WCAM 1/2P From Rajkot onwards.This train has heavy wait lists throughout the year.
