Sayem Sobhan Anvir is the Managing Director of the Bashundhara Group, a cluster of more than Top 20 industrial and business enterprises, in Bangladesh. Enterprises of the group have domination in real estate, construction inputs, heavy steel and engineering, paper and pulping, alternative energy, mass-media, maritime transportation, information technology, large-scale excavation and dredging, food and beverage, vocational and health education, utility service supplementation and international trading sectors.

Early life and education[edit]

Anvir was taught at the King’s School in Ely, Cambridgeshire in the United Kingdom since post elementary to advanced levels. He has a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) from the American International University in London, 2001.

Business career[edit]

In 2001, Anvir was declared the Managing Director of the Bashundhara Group by chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan.

Anvir has the business membership of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MCCI), SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industries. Besides, he has a business membership of SAARC Chambers of Commerce and Industries.

Social activities[edit]

Anvir is a member of Dhaka Club Limited (DCL), Gulshan Club Limited (GCL), All Community Club (ACL), and Uttara Club Limited (UC).

Honors and Awards[edit]

Anvir was conferred the US Congressional Recognition in 2011 for his contributions aimed at consolidating business ties between Bangladesh and the United States.[1] He is also a recipient of different prizes including ‘Best-Stall Trophy’ at the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DIFT) in 2006.
