Location of Scipio, Ohio

Scipio is an unincorporated community in the northwest corner of Morgan Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States, on the state line with Indiana. A post office was established on February 15, 1823, under the name "Philanthropy". The town was laid out by Joseph Alyea in 1827. It is at the intersection of State Routes 126 and 129.
