Sematic is an unsigned alternative rock band which originated out of Fairfax, Virginia in 2003. They are known for their large grass roots following in the DC Metro Area and have opened for national acts such as HURT, The Kin, VAST, and Eden Ro. The band completed their first cross-country tour Summer 2008.

Founded in 2004, by the Katrivanos’ brothers after tiring of playing music in their basement. The two have become one of the best known "brother bands" the area has produced. The two decided to get serious and added long time friends Josh Goodine and Mike Schmidt to the group. Sematic has gone through several line up changes over the years, but the dedication of the Katrivanos' brothers has seen the groups first album through to completion. Known for Live show antics as well as their party mentality, Sematic has found a home among locals around our Nations Capitol. Sematic has accumulated countless accomplishments in the DC-metropolitan area. [1] From playing college towns and major cities coast to coast, Sematic has been spreading their music with great success.[2]

In July 9, Sematic has completed their first full length album entitled "The Law of Threes." The group worked with producer Scott Spellbring of Dave Mathews and Jason Mraz, as well as Mix Engineer Drew Mazurek of Linkin Park on their 10 track album "The Law of Threes." The group is currently on tour supporting the album and has received radio play on DC101, (Washington DC) 98 Rock, (Baltimore MD) and 98X (Greenville NC). The group is currently in talks with Disney Motion pictures regarding the single off the record entitled "The Answer" for use in the upcoming Disney Film "A Modern Cinderella Story."
