This page is for requesting that a page, image or template be fully protected, create protected (salted), semi-protected, move-protected, or unprotected. Please read up on the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection is usually used only to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. After a page has been protected, the protection is listed in the page history and logs with a short description indicating why it was protected, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. Further discussion should take place on the Talk page of the article. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins do not revert back to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
If you would like to request a page to be protected or unprotected, please follow the following steps:
===={{la|Example Article Name}}====
'''Semi-protection:''' High level of IP vandalism. ~~~~
===={{lt|Example Template Name}}====
'''Temporary semi-protection:''' High level of IP vandalism. ~~~~

[edit] Nocturnal penile tumescence (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Indefinite semi-protection. A block evading IP who has stalked me for 3 months is editing there. Evidence for block evasion is here. Ip has used proxies and has been range blocked numerous times. Pass a Method talk 16:24, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- Note that this is a content dispute, and a registered editor has already reverted this user twice. He is also being reverted at the Erection article for similar content, and is not comprehending the valid concerns being made. The editor is now trying to stop my reverts of his edits to the article by pointing out any past blocks I may have had, which I point out are not due to vandalism or even the fact that I stalk his edits out of concern for the damage I've seen him do to Wikipedia articles, but rather that I edit under a proxy. This user has WP:Competence issues that need to be addressed, as evidenced by him requesting indefinite semi-protection of this article as though heavy vandalism or any vandalism is currently taking place there. 50.16.83.112 (talk) 16:54, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Current requests for unprotection
If you simply want to make spelling corrections or add information to a protected page that is not disputed, and you are not involved in any disputes there, consider simply adding {{Editprotected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. See the list of current {{Editprotected}} requests.
If you want an existing page unprotected, please try to ask the protecting admin first before making a request here.
Check here if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
[edit] Current requests for edits to a protected page
- Ideally requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add {{Editprotected}}, {{Editsemiprotected}} or {{Request edit}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both locked, this project page is the right place to request an edit. If you can, please use the {{la|article name}} template to describe the article you wish changed at the start of your request.
- Could somebody unprotect this subpage of my userpage please: User:Maunus/about.·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 23:07, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – this page is under a move request but an editor "Darwinek" seems to want to jump the gun and edit the contents early. I asked this page to be temporarily protected from moves because of this editor and I disagree. After the protection ended he fair and square put it up for a move request, but now keeps changing the contents before the rfm is complete. Could you please fully protect this page from editing for 5 days? By then the rfm may be completed and we'll know, because I'm getting tired of reverting this. Thanks. [edit] Resource-based economy (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Restarting editwar. Night of the Big Wind talk 04:08, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- This is not an edit war, it is an IP vandalizing and removing material he doesn't like and making ridiculous excuses why, like claiming that the article is a copyright violation, that the organisations mentioned aren't notable while they clearly are, etc. Full protection works, but is unnecessary. It can be semi-protected. --OpenFuture (talk) 04:13, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, revert and contra-revert is in my opinion an editwar. I have given the IP a final warning too. Night of the Big Wind talk 04:17, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- So reverting vandalism is edit-warring? That's a pretty strange position. --OpenFuture (talk) 04:20, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- I doubt if it is vandalism, but I am sure you guys have a content dispute. Night of the Big Wind talk 04:22, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- So why don't you read the talk page, and get rid of your doubts? --OpenFuture (talk) 04:25, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- You have the dispute, you solve it. Night of the Big Wind talk 04:37, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- It's not a dispute. And I'm trying to solve the problem, and you aren't exactly helping. --OpenFuture (talk) 04:48, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- Solving by editwarring? Night of the Big Wind talk 14:21, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
