Semtex (drink)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Semtex is a brand of energy drink manufactured in the Czech Republic by Pinelli since 1995. It contains the maximum allowed amounts of caffeine and taurine.
Three versions of Semtex drink were on sale in 1999 in the Czech republic, a children's version was on sale which lacked stimulants while two versions intended for adults were on sale.
The normal version contains a large amount of caffeine, while the Semtex Forte version contains a higher concentration of glucuronolactone. [1] Another version is Semtex Light (without sugar, only with artificial sweeteners). Semtex Hot (with chilli and ginger) and Semtex Ice (with mint) are no longer available.
The cans are 132 mm long and 52 mm diameter, containing 250 millilitres of content.
The drink is named after Semtex, a popular plastic explosive.[2] Explosia, the manufacturer of explosives, sued Pinelli for trademark infringement. In 2002, the companies settled for a single fee of several tens of millions CZK.[3]
