Sensors is a peer reviewed, open access, scientific journal that is published monthly by MDPI in Basel, Switzerland. Volume 1 Issue 1 was published in June 2001. The section editors in chief are Assefa M. Melesse, Prof. Dr. W. Rudolf Seitz, and Alexander Star.[2][3][4][5][6]

[edit] Aims and scope
This journal focuses on science and technology pertaining to sensors and biosensors. Coverage includes electrochemical sensors, biosensors, electrical sensors, thermal-based sensors, fiber optic sensors, and gas sensors. Sensors utilized in industry are also covered, and this includes the food industry, medicine, pharmacy, environmental monitoring, corrosion, and other industries. Nano sensors are also covered in this journal. Aspects of remote sensing may or may not be acceptable for publication in this journal.[7]
Publishing formats are original research, short notes, review articles, book reviews, product reviews, and announcements related to academia. Experimental and theoretical research results are published without regard for length of the article. Proposals and ideas for research are also part of this journal.[6][7]
