Serbo-Croats was term which was used in 19th century as ethnic determinants of all South Slavs who speak Serbo-Croatian.[clarification needed] It was taken that the common language implied one ethnic group.[by whom?][dubious ]
The term Serbo-Croats was used in statistics. Statistics on the nationalities of the Austrian monarchy (the former Kingdom of Dalmatia and Istria, all residents are classified according to the language as "Serbocroats." In Hungary, which hosted the Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia,[clarification needed] Serbs and Croats in the statistics was listed separately.
