[edit] Football career
Rodríguez made his professional debuts with UE Lleida, playing with the Catalonians in both the second and third divisions. In 2006–07, he switched to Cádiz CF (level two) but, unsettled, left after a few months and moved back to Lleida (on loan, in the third category).
In the following years, Rodríguez continued in the second division, with Deportivo Alavés and Real Sociedad. Already a fringe player in his second year with the latter, he did appear in 16 games as the club returned to the top flight after a three-year absence, being subsequently released.
