Shadow Children (series)

The Shadow Children series is a series of seven books by Margaret Peterson Haddix about a dystopian country which suffers food shortages due to a drought [1] and the effects of the government's totalitarian attempts to control resources as a way to solidify its power.[2] The Population Police enforce the government's Population Law, killing or imprisoning "shadow children," any third, fourth, fifth, etc. child. they are to be killed if they are to show who they really are.

Luke Garner, is a shadow child (third child) in a time when there isn't much food, and the Two-child policy law only allows up to two children per family. Luke lives his life hidden from the outside. He then discovers a amazing truth. There are others like him, and they are ready to fight back. Prepare for the revolt of the Shadow Children.
