Shahdara (Hindi : शाहदरा ,Urdu: شاہ درہ)

Shahdara is an eastern suburb of Delhi.Sometimes people call the whole trans-Yamuna region as Shahdara.Shahdara is a part of both East and Northeast Delhi. Shahdara has two MCD’s (Municipal council of Delhi) zones. North and South Shahdara are the main wards.The second oldest market in Delhi next only to Chandni Chowk at the 16th century. Old name of Shahdara is Chandrawali village.It is one of the stations on the line 1 of Delhi Metro.

Chhota (small)/Bada (big) bazar

There is a busy market known as chhota (small) bazar in Shahdara. There is also another market in continuation to chhota bazar is bada (big) bazar. Chhota bazar is very famous for day to day stuff, chaat pakauri (salty India snacks), and sweets. Hiralal halwai and Net Ram Chauhan Doodh Waley is one of the renowned Famous shops. If you go there please try it and eat some kachauri. Bada bazar is mostly for vegetables, groceries and fruits etc. In shahdara you can see different level of income people living as a neighbours of each other with no objection.

Bhola Nath Nagar

One of the oldest colony in Shahdara. it is an appropriate market to buy wooden furnitures and relevant accessories like computer tables , the dining ones etc. It has one of the oldest and famous shop for furniture named as Puran Furniture which basically deals in TV Trollies, temples, sofa, bed, etc.

Rohtash Nagar

Newly built Sai Baba Mandir is famous in kabool Nagar. There is a regular Sukra Bazar( Friday Bazar) in kabool Nagar Quarters from last 45 years. Famous for its biggest Babarpur Road Market. Another famous part is Shyam lassiwala and Hira lal sweets in rohtas nagar ..The Balushahis of hiralal are very famous. this is a very pink city and good area. all people are very good.

Balbir Nagar

Most of the residents are Business man and upper middle class.Its also known for Jain Temple, Sanatan Dhram-shala.Prominent school of shahdara like Arwachin Public School,Naveen Bharti Public School and Arwachin Siksha Sadadn are situated in Balbir Nagar.Old Rathi mill Campus is also in Balbir Nagar. Bankey bihari builders is 34 years famous shop in Balbir nagar. A Environmental working group called ECOKIDZ CLUB begins its roots from Balbir Nagar

Shivaji Park

Most of the residents are Business man and upper middle class. Little flower school is in Shivaji Park. it hav well educated teachers 4 all classes. it have good reputation in whole shadhara. Bachpan Play Way School is the Fastest growing school in shahdara.in 3 months it have 70+ students.

Ashok Nagar

One of the most happening playway school in shivaji park is MOTHER'S TOUCH HAVING 85 STUDENTS AND QUALIFIED STAFF . One of the largest colonies in the shahdara region.

Vishwas Nagar is another relatively cleaner and good place to stay for poor to middle class families near Shahdara. The colony has a very dense population of industrial units. Vishwas Nagar is famous for its street names. Starting from the main road where the cinema hall (Swarn Cinema), there are 17 streets going east. After that the street names are after Mahabharat (India Mythology) characters like Yudhister, Bhim, Arjun etc. when that ends it uses National leaders like Nehru, Subhash etc as street names. Fun place to be actually. Nice locality. Newly added CBD (having Cross River Mall, Fun City Mall) and Institutional Area(having CA Institute, MCD Head Office) are Vishwas Nagar's big assets

New Usmanpur

New Usmanpur is one of the oldest area of trans yamuna. It is located at the bank of river Yamuna. Here some pustas/marginal bandh are available. New Usmanpur is at between first and second slope of Pusta road. It is near Delhi Metro IT Park, Shastri Park or you can say that Delhi Metro IT Park is a landmark for New Usmanpur. Pusta Road is a connecting road for shastri park and Khajuri. It is divided into Bhagat Singh Colony, Jagjeet Nagar, Naya Gaon and Kaithwara.
