"She's Like a Star" is the fifth single from Taio Cruz's debut album Departure. An official remix of the song exists featuring Sugababes and Busta Rhymes. Cruz and Sugababes performed the song live at the 2008 MOBO Awards Ceremony. The song peaked at number twenty in the UK Singles Chart. The video features an appearance of Roxanne McKee in which she portrays his love interest. It premiered on July 18, 2008, on The Box and The Hits. On August 10, 2008, the song entered the UK Singles Chart at #44 and peaked at #20.

Controversy

Cruz's song "She's Like a Star" has sparked controversy with fellow UK soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae who has claimed that the sample Cruz uses in his song, sounds very similar to that of her own song "Like a Star". Cruz strongly refuted this statement and a musicologist has since confirmed that the song does not sample Rae's voice.
