Shelon River (Russian: Шелонь) is a river in the northwest part of European Russia, one of the main tributaries of Lake Ilmen. It has a length of 248 km and drains a basin of 9710 km². The river flows through the Novgorod Oblast and the Pskov Oblast.

The Battle of Shelon (July 14, 1471) between Muscovy and Novgorod Republic happened in between the town of Soltsy and the mouth of Shelon. It ended up with a victory of the Muscovite army led by duke Kholmsky, and consequently resulted in the annexion of Novgorod to Muscovy (1478).
