Sherpa Goan

Sherpa Gaon or village( Gaon means Village in Nepalese Language) located in Langtang National Park which is northern part of Nepal,near Tibet and Nepal border[Himalayas],about 2500 meters above sea level. It is a small village.

Their main occupation is farming such as growing Potatoes,Corn,Wheat,Barley and cattle farming like cow,goat,sheep,mule and Yak.Langtang region is very popular for tourism business.Sherpa Gaon is one of the tourist route to Langtang region,some people in this area open small motel to get extra income from tourism.

There is one government funded school,which provide education until grade 5 but due to lack of children in this village.The school is not running properly.Some children's are went to Kathmandu (capital City of Nepal) to become Buddhist Monk,schooling and some went to overseas for better life and education.

Most of them are believing in Buddhism because their ancestor were migrates from Tibet and still they are practicing Buddhism.People are very kind and honest nature.
