Shibolet & Co. is one of Israel’s most prominent, full-service, commercial-corporate law firms. The firm employs over 90 legal staff in its Tel Aviv office, maintains an affiliated office in New York and an Israeli desk at Shanghai. Shibolet & Co. is the only major Israeli commercial law firm to be ISO 9001:2000 certified in the field of Legal Services. The firm is the exclusive Israeli representative of Terralex, one of the two largest international independent associations of law firms.[1]
Shibolet was formed in 1973. It opened its New York office in 1976.[2] In 1987, the firm merged with the Law Firm of Yisraeli and Zisman.[3] In 2005, it merged with the Law firm of Moshe Ne’eman,[4] and in 2007, it merged with the law firm of Amihud Ben Porat.[5]

In addition to its affiliate office in New York City, Shibolet is the only Israeli law firm having an Israeli-Chinese desk in Shanghai in cooperation with the prominent Chinese law firm Da Cheng Law Offices which operates in twenty three branches across China and is considered to be the largest law firm in Asia. Shibolet & Co. specializes in cross-border legal work and many of its lawyers are native English speakers with foreign legal qualifications. Over 50 percent of the firm’s business is from overseas and multinational clients. As quoted from Legal500: "The firm's strong US footprint generates a large amount of US/Israel cross-border international work."

Shibolet’s corporate and commercial practice has recently been rated by Chambers and Partners.[citation needed] The firm has extensive experience in M&A, transactional work, counseling and negotiating on behalf of foreign and local clients, providing legal assistance in sales and acquisition of businesses and assets. The firm is active in the field of competition and anti-trust law, in the preparation of corporate compliance programs, and in assisting clients in obtaining regulatory approvals and other government incentives.
The firm's high-tech and venture capital practice has recently been rated by Chambers and Partners as a top tier practice. The firm participated in establishing some of Israel's leading VC Funds and accompanies those and other domestic and foreign funds through their investments and due diligence processes.[which?] The firm represents several[which?] of the most promising “start-ups”, many of Israel's leading high-tech companies as well as several large multi-nationals doing business in Israel.[citation needed]
The firm’s Telecommunications and Media practice is among the leaders in this field in Israel. The firm orchestrated one of the largest T&M mergers, has handled regulatory applications for telecommunication licenses, represents one of Israel's major media owners and has vast experience in legal issues pertaining to internet portals and related commercial matters. The firm has several leading experts in all aspects of internet law and muchexperience representing major internet portals and internet service providers. The firm's IP team’s lawyers are experts in transactional IP as well as negotiations, due diligence, and protection of IP rights.
The firm's team of litigators has recently been rated by Chambers and Partners. The firm represents clients before all courts and tribunals, including arbitration and mediation. The firm represents many foreign entities involved in legal actions in Israel as plaintiffs and defendants. The firm’s services include enforcement of judgments and actions taken against government bodies concerning regulatory and other issues. Shibolet partners also serve on the boards of non-profit organizations.
