The signal level in an audio signal chain, on an audio recording, or in a radio frequency communication is the measure of the level of the signal emitted or received. Signal level is often related to signal-to-noise ratio (SNR} in the fields of communication theory, science, and engineering, which measures the ratio between an arbitrary signal level and noise. Signal level is also used to transment information. Mostly used for things like cable and satlite tv.
