[edit] About

Simon Andersson was born 1980 and lives in Eskilstuna, Sweden. He started to play guitar at the age of seven and studied music at JBR in Gävle. Guitarist Mattias Windemo was his teacher/mentor for three years. He played in various local bands and switched to bass in the end of 1998. Andersson did a concert with Mats/Morgan Band in 1999, together with JBR big band. He graduated in spring 1999 and did a guest appearance (guitar solo) with metal band Meshuggah. He moved to Gothenburg in 2003, joined jazz/fusion quartet Synkopaterna, featuring talented guitarist Johan Randén (The band started off as "Johan Randén Band" and were guided by their friends in Freak Kitchen) and had a few projects with guitarist/producer Christian Alsing. He worked from time to time as a studio musician in the Gothenburg area and recorded basslines for artists like Bosson, Britney Spears and RARE. Andersson played bass in the hard rock band Outshine, toured in Sweden and Norway, recorded one EP, one single and one full length CD between 2005-2006. He joined the progressive metal band Pain of Salvation in the beginning of 2007, recorded a live DVD and went on tour in Europe as well as Egypt. He had the chance to join the metal band All Ends, but had to turn it down, since he worked full time with Pain of Salvation. Simon left Pain of Salvation in late 2008 due to personal reasons. In early 2009 Simon joined the Swedish indie rock band Shallow Sense and is currently a session bass player for the Swedish progressive metal band Darkwater. Left Shallow Sense in August 2010, due to other projects. Simon is still working with Darkwater as well as with his solo/band project (Follow what's happening on Simon's YouTube-channel: SimonAnderssonHQ). Simon joined Swedish full-time coverband Time Machine in December 2011.

Simon is endorsed by Woodo guitars, EBS amplification, Darkglass Electronics and TKS engineering.
