Simpang
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Simpang (Chinese: 新邦; pinyin: Xīnbāng, "new nation"), Malay for 'branch', is an area on the north side of Singapore. It is located at the northeast part of Yishun Town. To the north of Simpang is Pulau Seletar.
Simpang is currently a swamp area which is used by the Singapore Armed Forces as a training ground since the early 1996, after one plan of Simpang New Town was rejected. There are plans for it to be converted into a high-density housing estate, but so far nothing has been planned or finalised yet.
Development is on hold until Punggol is saturated.
