Site Scrubbing (short for Website Scrubbing) is a term which refers to the process of editing a web-based document in order to correct specific pieces of information within that document.
Often the term denotes a desire, on the author's part, to surrepticiously remove incorrect, inconvenient, or embarrassing information without leaving a record that the edits occurred.
