Skouras Films
Skouras Films is an American movie distribution company. The original title of the company was Skouras Pictures. Distributed films include Blood Simple, Joey Breaker, Living on Tokyo Time, The Quiet Earth, and Apartment Zero.
Through hard work and good fortune the Skouras family attained a respected position in the film industry, building the Skouras Theatres Circuit in St. Louis, Missouri and later operating larger companies on the United States national scene. Spyros Skouras as President of 20th Century Fox from 1942-1965. George Skouras longtime President of United Artists Theatre Circuit and Charles Skouras, President of National Theatres and Fox West Coast Theatres.
The family has recently launched Skouras Films. Modeled closely on Skouras Pictures the new company plans to release 10 films a year on a worldwide basis with plans to expand into digital video production later this year. Members of the Skoura family enjoy a broad spectrum of contacts and are active in the daily operation of studio script sales, as well as being voting members of the Motion Picture Academy.
