Snugpak is a UK based outdoor product company and manufacturers, specializing in sleeping bags and insulated clothing.

The brand is popular with not only outdoor enthusiasts, but also military personnel stationed out around the world.

Snugpak is a true, pioneering British company, starting out as an original cottage industry in the 1970s, and developing into a worldwide brand. Based for over thirty years in Silsden, Snugpak’s success has endured through passing skills down through generations, while taking on the best that technology has to offer.[1]

Snugpak is proud of its heritage, of its skilled, hard-working and loyal team and its base in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Known for quality and great customer service the world over, it’s Snugpak’s mission to keep innovating and bringing pioneering design to all lovers of the great outdoors for many years to come.

It all began with a deep sea diver in the 1970s - while doing high risk repair work on oil rigs, Brett saw his American co-workers wearing body warmers and knew there would be a great market for them in the UK. He set to work on the designs, making patterns on his kitchen table and learning to sew.

In the 1980s, the pioneering Softie® insulated sleeping bag range was launched, and was unlike any synthetic sleeping bag on the market. Now, firmly established in the camping and outdoor market word started to spread within the military about the superior performance of Snugpak sleeping bags and insulated clothing, and it was not long before olive green options of product were widely available.

The 2000s have seen the company grow from a strong British manufacturing company into an internationally recognised brand, twice winning the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade.[2][3]

In 2009 Snugpak were visited by Princess Anne.[4] Armed Forces minister Andrew Robathan visited the company in 2013.[5]

Snugpak products include Sleeping Bags, Insulated Clothing, Lightweight Tents, Rucksacks and Travel Accessories. Users of Snugpak products include outdoor enthusiasts, campers, military personnel, bushcrafters and fishermen.

The insulation used in the companies sleeping bags and clothing is known as Softie® and completely exclusive to Snugpak. Fabrics used by the company include Ventile and Aquabar and a range of different Paratex fabrics.
