The Hackensack Riverfront is an area on the eastern bank of the Hackensack River and Newark Bay on the West Side of NJ Route 440 in Jersey City, New Jersey.[1] It is home to the Hudson Mall [2], a Jersey City Public Works facility, Society Hill (a gated community}, and the New Jersey City University Athletic Complex. Droyer's Point and Kearny Point across from it, mark the mouth of the Hackensack River, which joins the Passaic River to form the Newark Bay.

This area was at one time home to the Jersey City Airport, and then to the Works Progress Administration era Roosevelt Stadium and since the 1990s is being developed as a residential, recreational, and retail area.

The Hackensack RiverWalk is a proposed trail connecting Bayonne and North Bergen, mostly at the water's edge. Parts of the RiverWalk have gaps along its route. The southern gap begins at the Bayonne border and will likely utilize the Route 440 southbound right of way. Access is possible at New Jersey City University Athletic Complex [3] and Society Hill. The portion between Droyer's Point and the Lincoln Highway, though accessible has not yet been developed. Lincoln Park West, a Hudson County Park, is wetlands preservation and recreation area.

The district is served by the A&C Bus Corporation, and there is discussion to extend the Hudson Bergen Light Rail from the West Side Avenue (HBLR station) terminus, approximately .25 miles away.
