Søften is a small Danish town in Jutland, about three kilometers south of Hinnerup and just outside Aarhus. Søften has a population of 2,625 (1 January 2011)[1].

Archaeologists have found evidence of people living where Søften was later built as far back as the Bronze Age.
There are about 40 barrows located around Søften dated back to the Iron Age.
The Søften Church is one of the oldest Danish buildings. The church was originally erected in the late 12th century, and additions were made to the church in 1460, which is painted inside the church.
The following different spellings for Søften have been found: Suten (1386), Suchten (1399) and Søwten (1489).
