Sonadanga is located at 22°49′00″N 89°33′00″E / 22.8167°N 89.5500°E . It has 23778 units of house hold and total area 8.42 km².

As of 1991[update] Bangladesh census, Sonadanga has a population of 128330. Males constitute are 52.64% of the population, and females 47.36%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 70354. Sonadanga has an average literacy rate of 60.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]
