Sonitpur district

Sonitpur is an administrative district in the state of Assam in India. The district headquarters are located at Tezpur. The district has an area of 5324 km² and has a population of 1,681,513 (as of 2001). Hindus 1,287,646, Muslims 268,078 (15.94%).
