[edit] Labels, pressings and back catalogue rights

Sonny and Cher's debut single was released under the pseudonym Caesar and Cleo, and was "The Letter", under the Vault Records. After in 1964 they released "Love Is Strange", a cover of Mickey & Sylvia's 1957 classic, and "Do You Wanna Dance" both under the Reprise Records, Those singles received little attention[1] in the US but all failed in the Billboard 200 chart. In 1965 "Baby Don't Go" was released as a single that was their first success. To conclude the contract with label Reprise was released in 1965 the album Baby Don't Go.

After the success of "Baby Don't Go" the couple signed a contract with Atco Records in US and Atlantic Records in UK and Europe. With this label, their released three studio albums and two greatest hits from 1965 to 1967. During this years there was a decline in sales, and the only singles that peaks in the top ten were "I Got You Babe" and "The Beat Goes On". This is especially due to the increased of Cher's popularity in the end of 60's, after the couple released the soundtrack for the movie "Good Times" in 1967.

In 1971 the couple return in the charts with the album "Sonny & Cher Live", under the labels MCA Records in US and Kapp Records in UK. With those labels, their released two studio albums, two live albums and two greatest hits. The last single released was the double A-side "You're Not Right for Me"/"Wrong Number" under Warner Bros. Records in 1977.
