[edit] Plot

While on General Martok's ship, Worf is reunited with his estranged son, Alexander. The young man is now a trained starship crewman, though the crew initially does not accept him. This changes after an incident where Alexander's mistake made it seem like the ship was under attack when it was not.

Worf tries to watch out for his son, but he is making things worse. Worf realizes his mistakes when Alexander risks his life to help save the ship.

Meanwhile back on the station, Kira is distracted from her efforts in setting up a resistance by the return of Gul Dukat's daughter Ziyal. Ziyal attempts to make Dukat and Kira see that they do have some common ground but her attempts are ultimately futile.

[edit] Arc significance

  • After studying art in a Bajoran school, Ziyal returns to the station.
  • Worf's son Alexander (cf. "Reunion") has joined the Klingon defence forces and is now serving aboard Martok's ship.
