Sony Entertainment Television or SET, is a Hindi-language based general entertainment television channel in India. It was launched in October 1995 and is owned by Multi Screen Media Pvt. Ltd. (MSM, formerly SET India Private Limited), a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment. The network carried C.I.D. and Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Sony is available in HD on DishTV, Tata Sky, Videocon d2h, Airtel digital TV, Hathway and Fastway Cable.[1] It was launched on 28 May 2012.[citation needed]

Programming

SET's programming is targeted towards family audiences. The programming covers genres including drama, reality, comedy, thriller, horror, Bollywood, and live events. Some of its programmes include Reporters; Kaun Banega Crorepati (Reality Game Show); C.I.D. (Crime Fiction); Comedy Circus; Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin (There Is No One Like Jassi), Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar, Heena (Drama), Aahat (a Horror Show), Baat Hamari Pakki Hai (Drama), Saas Bina Sasural (Sitcom) and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge.

In October 2011, Sony Entertainment Television had risen to the number 2 ranking position for six weeks, due in part to the ratings of Kaun Banega Crorepati.[2]
