The Soomra dynasty (Sindhi: سومرن جو سلسله) was a dynasty that ruled in the Sindh region of present-day Pakistan from 1024 to 1351. Their first ruler, Al Khafif, was sent from Samarra, in modern-day Iraq, by the Abbasid Caliphate and took over Mansura after the last ruler of the Habbari dynasty died in 1010 AD.[1] Although the dynasty was given an Arab pedigree, it is considered to have been Rajput in nature.[2]
