Souris Regional High School, is a Canadian secondary school in Souris for students from the north eastern part of Kings County, including the town of Souris.

The school is administratively part of the Eastern School District. Its official colours are maroon and gold and the mascot is a Spartan. The sports teams from SRHS are called the Souris Spartans.

History and characteristics[edit]

  • In 1961, Souris Regional High was officially opened by Premier Walter R Shaw.
  • In 1984, parts of Souris High were torn down and rebuilt, giving the school updated classrooms, a new cafetorium, a renovated gymnasium, and spaces for carpentry, welding and motor vehicle repair.
  • In 2009, The school started taking in grade 8 students because of the schools in the area that were permanently closed on July 1st.
  • In 2011 the government approved a request from the Eastern School District to renovate and build additions to the high school in Souris to accommodate 625 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Planning and design for the new facility will be complete during 2011-2012 with construction slated for 2013-2015.

The school is currently the 2nd smallest in the province in terms of student enrollment and smallest in terms of area.
