South Hunterdon Regional High School is a regional public high school and secondary school district serving three communities in southern Hunterdon County. It is the smallest public high school in the state of New Jersey.[citation needed] Students in grade 7 - 12 attend the school, which serves students from Lambertville (160 students), Stockton (23 students) and West Amwell Township (220 students). The high school is located in Lambertville.

As of the 2006-07 school year, the school had an enrollment of 345 students and 42.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 8.1.[1]

South Hunterdon Regional High School is a very small, tight knit community of education and extra-curricular activities. The school allows and markets the opportunity for students from outside the district to attend by paying tuition, as some consider the small class sizes and environment to be similar to that of a private school.

The school is in the middle of a renovation which is scheduled to be completed in 2008.

The school was the 58th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 314 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2008 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools. The school was ranked 120th in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which included 316 schools across the state.[2]
