[edit] Biography

Spank Rock began performing in Philadelphia, where his reputation quickly increased. He later toured with Hollertronix and M.I.A.; he also toured with Beck in 2006[2]. Spank Rock's debut album YoYoYoYoYo was released in 2006 on the Big Dada record label. His most recent release, a 5 song EP Bangers & Cash made in collaboration with producer/DJ and former Disco D intern, Benny Blanco, was inspired by the booty bass sounds of 2 Live Crew. Spank Rock is soon to record his second full length album.

Their single, "Bump", was named Single of the Year by Xfm London breakfast DJ Lauren Laverne in 2006.[3] "Bump" was also played at the beginning of an episode in season three of Entourage. A remixed version of "Bump" is currently playing on a Wish-Bone salad dressing commercial.

In the video game Need for Speed: Carbon, the song "What It Look Like" appears. In Madden NFL 07, "Backyard Betty" is featured. Also, an instrumental version of "Loose" is in the game NBA 2K9.

In June 2007, Spank Rock signed a deal with Downtown Records.[4] Spank Rock's first Downtown Records release came in the form of fall 2007's Benny Blanco & Spank Rock Present: "Bangers and Cash" EP , a 2 Live Crew inspired 5 song E.P.[5]
