[edit] History

Dallas is a mutant who can transform into an intangible shadow form possessing enhanced speed and strength.

At the Xavier Institute, Dallas Gibson is mentored by Emma Frost, Institute co-headmaster, and he made acquaintances of the students who were later assigned to Frost's Hellions training squad. However, with the invention of the training squad system, he is assigned a new adviser, Cyclops, and is placed in a different training squad, the Corsairs, which includes the Stepford Cuckoos, Quill, and Dryad. In the school yearbook, Dallas is voted "most likely to marry a baseline" (i.e., non-mutant human).[1]

Specter is one of the thousands of mutants who lost their powers on M-Day. However, Dallas is confirmed alive after Reverend Stryker attacked the de-powered mutants at the Institute. According to Chris Yost and Craig Kyle, he is still alive and living with his grandfather.

[edit] Powers and abilities

In the House of M storyline, the Scarlet Witch de-powered most of the world's population of mutants—Specter included. Formerly, he could blend with his own shadow, which gave him enhanced strength, speed and the power of intangibility. He could not stay in shadow form for too long without succumbing to his own darkness. The shadow form was apparently stronger during the day.[2]
