St. Charles Township is one of sixteen townships in Kane County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 42,051[1] (the fourth largest in the county) with 15,676 housing units.

According to the United States Census Bureau, St. Charles Township covers an area of 35.35 square miles (91.6 km2); of this, 34.71 square miles (89.9 km2) (98.2 percent) is land and 0.64 square miles (1.7 km2) (1.8 percent) is water. It is divided by the Fox River.
