[edit] History and philosophy

In 1992, Brice moved out of a brick-and-mortar business to establish a home-based business, providing travel planning and executive assistance. She subsequently began to formulate her vision of an archetypal administrative assistant; one who would work virtually. In 1996, Anastacia became involved with Coach U, and shortly afterward, followed her passion by coaching women to live deeply authentic lives.

In 1997 she formalized the Virtual Assistance profession by creating AssistU– the first organization of any kind for Virtual Assistants (VAs).

AssistU’s Virtual Training Program (VTP1, a live, virtual training program that was offered from 1997-2011, incorporated a business model based on the feminine aptitude for inclusive support, team work, cooperation, sharing, intuition, and a view to the long-term best interests of everyone involved. AssistU offered graduates of the VTP two levels of certification2, ongoing and online community, and a referral service where they could received referrals to prospective clients.

In 2012, Brice revamped the training to offer it as a self-study program, designed to meet the ever changing needs of adult learners. That program is called Virtual Basics.
