Founding[edit]

Stanmore Hawks are an Australian soccer Club based in Stanmore, New South Wales. The Club was founded in 1978 by the Greek-Cypriot community of Sydney, it originally played under the name Cyprus United.

History[edit]

From the early 1980s to the early 1990s, Stanmore achieved promotion for every season in an incredible decade culminating in a Championship in the then NSW Division One competition (effectively the NSW 2nd Division) in 1992 and again in 2004.

After a lean next decade which included relegation, Stanmore were crowned Champions of NSW State League 2 in 2013, and were promoted back into NSW State League 1 (effecively the NSW 3rd Division) for 2014 where they remain.
