Stanovci

Stanovci is a small village near the city of Vučitrn in the northeastern part of Kosovo.[a] In fact it is made up of two villages, Upper Stanovc[1] and Lower Stanovc.[2] Stanovci is situated between the river Sitnica and the Pristina-Mitrovica road. It is approximately 15 km (9 mi) from the Pristina. The village has a population of about 2000. The land is mainly used for agriculture. The mountain of Čičavica rises to a height of 1,091 m (3,579 ft) to the west of the village.

a.   ^ Kosovo is the subject of a territorial dispute between the Republic of Serbia and the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo. The latter declared independence on 17 February 2008, while Serbia claims it as part of its own sovereign territory. Its independence is recognised by 88 UN member states.
