State Highway 188 or SH 188 is a Texas state highway running from Mathis east to the Gulf of Mexico near Port Aransas. This route was designated in 1993, replacing FM 881 and part of FM 1069.

SH 188 was previously designated by 1933 as a connector route between then-SH 5 and Roxton. This route was cancelled in 1942 and was replaced by FM 38.
